For the third year running, Sidney Sussex College has emerged victorious in the annual ¹ú¼ÊÃ×À¼¶ÔÕó¿ÆĪ Culinary Competition.

An event at Murray Edwards College on Sunday afternoon will feature two films exploring very different periods of the Black British experience and offers the chance to meet well-known directors and actors.

Two ¹ú¼ÊÃ×À¼¶ÔÕó¿ÆĪ students emerged winners of the International Inter-varsity Debating Competition, held last weekend by the Debating Society at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London.

Enthusiasts, curators, practitioners and academics alike will discuss the representation of ‘Women in Comics’ in the first conference of its kind at ¹ú¼ÊÃ×À¼¶ÔÕó¿ÆĪ University on Sunday, 25th October.

Clare Short, Independent MP for Birmingham, Ladywood and former Minister will be in ¹ú¼ÊÃ×À¼¶ÔÕó¿ÆĪ on Wednesday to give a speech at the Murray Edwards Politics Society.

What is a credit crunch? What has caused this credit crunch? What effect is it having and what effect will it have? What can we learn from it? What can we do to stop it and stop it happening again? These are all questions that the Big Crunch Big Bang Conference will aim to answer this Friday 21 November.

The New Europe Society will be showing the series of short films entitled ‘The Decalogue’. This is a series of films Director Stanley Kubrik described as the only masterpiece he could name in his lifetime. The films will be shown this Tuesday, November 18.
